Fwd: Research Coach (PC Library)

Spread the word to your students about the PC Library's “Research Coach” service!   Research Coaches are librarians who assist students with common challenges they often face when doing research, such as:

·         Framing a research question ·         Choosing where to look for resources ·         Using resources in the most effective way possible ·         Knowing how to evaluate different sources ·         Citing sources correctly

Students can schedule an appointment online with a Research Coach or stop by the reference desk.  Research shows that students who use academic library resources and interact with librarians are more engaged with college and are less likely to leave before graduating. 

Fwd: NAU Connection Scholarship

Please spread the word about NAU's annual  $1000 general transfer scholarship (application attached and on the Connection website)  to all eligible students who plan to transfer to NAU's extended campus programs in Maricopa County.  Applications are due July 1, 2014

Eligibility: Students who are newly admitted for fall 2014 into an NAU Extended Campuses program and are transferring from a Maricopa Community College are eligible.  Students must have earned at least 30 credit hours from a Maricopa college with a GPA of 2.5 or better. However, NAU encourages students to complete an associate’s degree in order to maximize the amount of transferable credit from the Maricopa system. Students must remain in good academic standing and be enrolled in at least 6 hours at NAU during the semesters the scholarship is awarded to receive the full scholarship amount of $1,000 for the academic year.  It is disbursed in two payments of $500.00, one in the fall semester and one in the spring semester.
